The album starts so brilliantly, the song with the same name as the record is so catchy and an amazing opener. Don’t Start Now, offers a great time with its eurodance likeness. Perfect and Love Again nod to Lady Gaga’s early work with its 80’s sounds but Dua Lips makes it her own with such confidence. Levitating makes you want to be on a colourful dance floor like a Nile Rodgers track, it’s never ending how catchy this album is.
Boys Will Be Boys is a great song that I hope gets all the praise it deserves. “And put your keys between your knuckles when there's boys around, isn’t it funny how we laugh it off to hide our fear when there's nothing funny here?” is both a dark and honest way to describe what it’s like for so many woman still.
Dua is epically calling out that woman shouldn’t stop themselves from being who they are to stop men acting out such toxic behaviour that has been normalised by society.
Future Nostalgia is bold, catchy as fuck and so needed!
