'Famous Last Words' just gives you so much and more, with every second having a purpose to grab the listeners attention. The band sound immense together over the slight garage sounding beat, while the melody takes us to somewhere that so many want from indie music. This song just goes to places you do not expect!! The wonderful guitar lines gives us some great indie pop moments but then the drumming and production, wants you to go somewhere for a good old rave at times. Everything concludes with the wonderful hook and with this outfit showing off this kind of talent so early, it leaves you pumped for what is next from Malady.
Oh man these guitar tones and punky vocals from this Glasgow band!? If you blend some Jamie T and Slaves together for your recent recommendation, then The Riot Vans will be the ultimate pick for you. The guitars on this belter has such angst to it but still keep a playful nature to them, leaving you to want to mosh and also have a little dance too. Vocals are passionate and highly engaging, that sounds so epic and amazing on the bands recent release.
The UK Indie Rock bliss from this latest offering by The Bagatelles, gets right into your head instantly! Its melody is pure and true, with the bass playing being a very key player to the bands whole sound. The way this group come together in the songs chorus is really impressive and overall, this latest release is one that many will for sure will enjoy.
The tone and thickness of this track is fucking epic, you really feel the edge of this song cutting you as you listen to it. STRANGE BONES sound great with the guitar hook and the rocky vocal chanting in the chorus, which gets broken off by a glitchy voice that leads the song into a hard hitting middle eight. What is interesting about this band, is that they don't follow certain cliches of the genre and simply want to go off where they want to rock. We may have the King Gizzard of UK Metal on our hands?
Southampton based outfit, Artemis, have a great sounding new single called 'New Wave'. As ever, the vocals shine so much and sound assured as ever, over this atl-rock track. As a band, you can hear the group are growing all the time and on this single, the drumming gives the track a great full sound to it and the guitars sound so rich throughout. Artemis will only get better and better as time goes on, which is so exciting and enthralling.
The groove on Bethan Wyn's latest offering is so incredibly smooth, with her vocals sounding so warm and impressive. The band feel of the track grows as the track progresses, with some extra licks from the guitar being such a cool touch to the song. 'Get To Know You' has a decent beat to it, which really sets a foundation to allow it to become this soulful song with an extra strut to it.
This Aussie-Americana outfit have their debut album out in early June and this single that came out a few months ago, shows off a lot of talent that could be on this debut LP. 'Lions' has a great melody to it, backed by some lovely acoustic instrumentation that instantly warms up your heart. Sturt Avenue showcase a lot here, giving us something engaging with its catchiness and joyous with its delivery.
Foxxglove delivers a beautiful sounding new single, that feels incredibly passionate and honest. The heartbreaking track follows the artists dark/pop alternative sound, while still showing progress of her overall songwriting. The minimalistic style on the production is hugely effective and allows Foxxglove to showcase the songs melody and her own vocals.
Tango and classic rock influences really work well by the band. The two vocalists compliment each other so well and fit perfectly well with the songs clash of genres. 'Here We Go' picks up throughout the song and becomes this rock pop moments of pure bliss, that could get anyone up and going with its passionate and chirpy delivery.
