After the success of 'Kill The Noise' last July, capturing the mood of the Black Lives Matter protests, there was a lot of eyes on J.Chambers and what he will do next. With no surprise, the man delivers another belter of a song with 'Sirens', where he honestly pens down the black experience with the noise of 'sirens'. The artist meet poet, shines with his wordplay and captures the imagination and mind of the listener, when discussing about the struggles many Black Britons face. The chorus of the song is infectious too, giving this track a groove which takes the track to another level.
BLOXX return with their indie pop sound on 'Everything I've Ever Learned'. The song contains an infectious, running bass line and guitar tones that sounds so fresh and classic! Lyrically we hear some honest words from lead singer, Fee Both, who has spoken about how this song was a way to stop trying to understand every little thing about life and its struggles. Once again this group have put out a song that will feel relatable to many and have carried on their fine form from their debut record, with this new release.
The atmosphere you can feel by the alt-band from York, is incredible!! Pavillion offer a perfect cut with their latest single, which includes some lovely sounding keyboards and also a blend of pretty and heavy guitars. The song has a french charm to it as the lyrics are inspired by the work of Anna Karina, if you haven't guessed from the songs name. Pavillion will be one the most hotly anticipated outfits to see live this year, due to their incredible sound and talent at writing incredible, sounding songs.
This slice of indie pop-rock is a real treat by the outfit from Liverpool, 'Sarah' has a prowess of solid songwriting and an ear for a catchy guitar riff. The band seem to be finding their feet with their sound and intentions, their progress shines so much with the groove and catchiness of the guitar hook. Make sure to keep an eye out on this new Liverpool band, they are for sure going to go from strength to strength.
From the word go, Kim Ven pulls you in with her impressive and disticnt vocals on her latest single, showcasing the talent she truly has. The textures created throughout the song makes this feel like a dramatic journey, the slide guitar and bass line in particular standing out so well. The middle eight is a dream but the hook of the song, wow.....the coolness oozes out and gets stuck in your head from the first listen!!
James Greenwood offers us an impressive track with 'Museum', showing off his interesting and engaging ideas. The chorus found on the song is lovely, which is backed up with acoustic and electric guitars, giving the mood of the song a great depth to it. Within the verses, we have a subtle piano part deep within the mix, which becomes more prevalent in the pre-chorus. It will be interesting to see where this gifted songwriter will go to next!
Anyone looking for some American sounding pop-rock? Well socialghosts will give you that with their latest release, 'Malibu'! Here we have some classic punk pop melodies and summery groove that will send your arms into the air, yearning for a gig in the hot sun once again. This group sound very assured together and will grab the attentions of younger millennials who were brought up on Busted.
The duo have another interesting cut for us and 'lie heartfelt' feels even more immersive and infectious than what we have heard from the outfit before. The subdued synths set a great tone, with the vocals fitting in so well, especially in the chorus with the great backing vocals. It has plenty of nods to 80's synth music but Almost Sex have really made something that sounds like them, they just keep getting better and better.
