Each element of 'Smokes and Mirrors' has an ora of class, to an extent where you wonder how it is not used in an ITV drama yet! The songs melody is highly impressive, backed up by some eloquent piano playing and instrumentation choices, that ensures that this song elevates itself to the smoothest of quarters. As the song develops, we are given an effective bass line that adds yet another layer to an already impressive release by 'three and me'.
Crawlers are bringing everyone together with a head banging tune, filled with passion and desire about the impact and need of the Black Lives Matter movement. Brilliantly, the band are filled with fire and angst in their playing, ranging from the great vocals to the amazing guitar lines, that we hear throughout. The band look at the injustices of the modern world in this action packed single, giving us great spirit and a tune that we want to having playing nonstop.
How beautiful is this indie pop single? 'Home' is subtle with its delivery but has a sense of magic to it, ensuring it is both impressive with its songwriting and being playful at heart. The songs dreamy guitars and soothing vocals are lush, with the percussion ensuring the songs melody can fly into our ears with such wonder and grace. NERiMa are showing off their talents so well and it will be interesting where this three piece will take us next.
From the song to the music video, we are given what Pom Poko are all about! 'Like A Lady' is filled with the bass tones and guitars of themid/late 90's music scene, while the melody takes us on a fun ride, that makes you want to jump in the craziest of ways. Here we have a band unashamed with their intentions, offering fans something to get behind and revel in, it feels like such a treat and is another belter of a song by this band.
The mood that is created by the vocals and the slick sounding guitars, is truly sublime. This dramatic new song by DMS is a delight and a tune for someone who wants to enjoy a subtle blend of indie with the more sinister side to music. Again the vocals are amazing and delivered so effectively, while the drumming is truly a shining light on this song and gives the single such class.
Looking for something that brings the surreal elements of Aussie guitar music (King Gizzard and Tame Impala), with the songwriting of UK Indie outfits like The Kooks and The Wombats? Well here it is! La Palma take us on our mysterious journey that begins with such a lovely breeze to it before taking some Alice in Wonderland like turns, which lead us to dark synths and later on, acoustic guitar picking.
Some razor sharp vocals and guitars, allow Sound Like Storm to give indie rock a more refined and sassier tone to it. The guitar work is awesome, conducting the band through the verses and backing up the vocals in the chorus, that many will be captured by when they blast it through their speakers. As a band, it feels they know how to rock together, meaning that they are for sure, going to get better and better.
