The Essex based artist has released another delightful and blissful single, offering us a catchy synth sound and an empowering message within its lyrics. The beat is great, while Myla does what she does so well with her vocals, capturing a great blend of honesty and confidence. Lyrically, the track focuses on how easy it is in todays world, to instantly make a mistake in your dating life (thanks Tinder) and overall this song is another indication on how Myla Vie, just keeps progressing with every release.
'Sweet Heart' draws you in straight away, with Jemma Johnson's great vocal delivery and the fascinating beat/synth parts. The guitar that is featured in the song, is a masterstroke and the production choices throughout the song is wonderful. We are taken away from the groove of the at some point during the song, for a brief and magical moment of some incredibly, beautiful harmonies! The groove is immense and the craft found in this song by the artist, is so so so impressive.
The lead single off her soon to be released second record, 'Reflection', is one of the most fascinating songs so far this year, offering a taste of how this artist is not riding along in one genre. Loraine's murmured vocals, over a digital and slight industrial mix is both mesmerising and enthralling. The lyrics seem very reflective and the overall tone of the song, seems to suggest that Loraine James is fully focused on getting the job done.
The whole vibe of this song is bad arse, punk, cool and feels so fresh with its overall delivery! The drums stand out the tones of the guitars feel inspired by the 00's but in no way feel cliched or generic. 'SHAPESHIFTER' is very catchy in both the verses and chorus, while the artist also sounds great within the mix with their vocal delivery. THE BLOSSOM overall, has offered a mega new single that will reach further than their home city of New York....this could be huge...seriously.
This summery sounding Indie song, brings together a lot of elements that is woven into the indie music handbook. With a melody filled with anticipation and both guitars playing off each other so enjoyably, The Backfire make us want to dance and chant out this song all through the summer months. Fans of Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes and The Kooks will really enjoy this band!
This beautiful, mellow, synth pop track looks at the struggles of social anxiety and looking at the world, from a far. The sounds created with the drums and synths are amazing, creating such a space like atmosphere that fits so well with the lyrical content. The artists vocals fly across this song in a relaxed fashion but still fills the song well, leaving this track to feel so relatable and welcoming.
The rich guitars and sweet backing harmonies, send the song 'Sketchshow' to a really lovely and impressive place. The vocals sound wonderful, feeling so at ease as it sings through this solid melody. Despite the chorus not being this gigantic moment, the way the band delivers it, is mighty impressive.
