Off the recent EP release by the songwriter, 'Don't Wait Too Long', brings together everything that Kate Bowen is all about, a combination of melodic prowess with sounds of purity and grace. Guided by a beautiful piano piece, the singers vocals soar so gently and beautifully, capturing our hearts along the way. This song in particular stands out with its melody writing and touch of class from the musicianship that is showcased here.
An impressive blend of indie pop and alternative rock ensures Wharfs latest single is a true delight. The way 'Compatible' can fit so perfectly on your summer playlist and being played out by the band at a muddy festival, showcases that these guys are onto something. The vocals are playful and the rhythm section will leave you jumping around, while the lead guitar gives it an extra stomp that would fit on a Catfish and The Bottlemen record.
There is such a beautiful post-disco and even hyperpop touches, within Vanity Fairy's debut single. Even after it coming out over two years, it will fit right at home on the artists next EP release, 'Love From Above'. The production on this song is flawless, the lush synths and busy percussion feel so lush and passionate, it allows the singers vocals to feel even more gorgeous. There are nods to early Kate Bush here and also more recent avant-pop songwriting.
'The Symphony’ is the bands fourth single, and the second to be taken off their debut EP ‘AsThe Dark Unfolds’, that will be out in May. The 80's aesthetic that is played within the electric guitars is highly infectious, very reminiscent of what we have heard from The Killers over the years. Overall this new single is atmospheric and feels like you are looking up to the stars in the sky.
The chimes and beautiful sounds found within the mix on 'Sea of Glass' makes you feel like you are experiencing an actual, sea of...glass. The subdue nature of the song is highly infectious, with the singer gracing us with lovely vocals within the array of sounds, woven into this lovely piece of work. You are left wanting to experience the place that Eden Dawn takes you to on this release again and again, it is a hauntingly beautiful affair the whole thing.
The gentle and alt rock opening, struts in from a hot day, as Firestations sound assured and blissful on their latest single. The mid-tempo track just has a great tone of arena rock to it, you can feel the vocals around you and the interesting synth sound, does give a 'circular' mood to the track? The chorus is awesome and again, shows off how talented the band are.
The grit is heavily rich in this grunge meets garage rock song, the guitars are determined to grab your attention. While the lyrics are trying to bring everyone together, we are all one nation. Its punchy at all times, with a swift guitar solo pushing the song to its closing moments. What has to be said is that the drums put up a fight to be a strong part of the Chasing Dolls sound.
